InfiniDreams blog

InfiniDreams is a computer program and online service that allows dreamers to record their dreams, associate elements to individual dreams, perform powerful searching, and share their dreams with the world.

This blog contains the latest updates to the InfiniDreams project at Innovata.

Wow, more than a year and no news!? That's what you'd think if you were just keeping track of the blog. But for those of you who are super observant, or are fans of InfiniDreams on Facebook, you'd know there were a few things going on since this past year.

Since April of last year, the team has published three updates to InfiniDreams. Even though the final build was released back then, the team has continued to make improvements over the following months. The most notable changes are a new look-and-feel, bug fixes, performance improvements, and new features for Dream Stats.

Build #92, which is a pre-release version, adds functionality for Dream Lists, allowing people using InfiniDreams to create an unlimited number of lists that they can add any number of dreams to. People can quickly reference their dream lists and also run stats on the dreams in the list. Lists also synchronize with InfiniDreams Online, though at this time there is no Dream Lists feature for Online, but Lists still synchronize across the desktop application.

Build #93, published tonight, is still considered pre-release while we get some synchronization bugs fixed. However, we're adding new stuff to Dream Stats and we didn't want to hold out on you. For those of you wanting to try out the new stuff, head over to the download page for Build #93. For those of you not wanting to use it yet, we recommend using Build #91. All builds since #89 will synchronize correctly with InfiniDreams Online, except for #92 in particular circumstances, which we're not even sure yet. We're investigating.

Until then, have any suggestions or ideas for new features or improvements to existing ones? Contact us with your thoughts!

Happy Launch Day!
Tony Gulino @ Tue Apr 14 2009 4:00:00 AM
Today is finally here!

Nearly four years ago, InfiniDreams started out as a simple dream journal app. Over the years, it has grown into a very sophisticated and powerful tool for dreamers to record their dreams and share them with the world. An online, web-based application was spun-off that can do everything the desktop application can. Both work together to provide dreamers with their collection of dreams at their disposal at any time of the day and any place in the world.

Perhaps one of the best characteristics of InfiniDreams is that it is free-of-charge for anyone to use. First inspired from another program that costs nearly 40 USD, the development team vowed to make a more useful application for free. After four years, InfiniDreams has become one of the best electronic dream journaling tools available today.

The team is pleased to announce that all programming and testing has been completed and has released the final build of InfiniDreams, available for download. While this release represents a huge milestone for the team, they assert that development of InfiniDreams will never be finished. Just as it has grown over the past four years, with evolving technology and better understanding of dreams, InfiniDreams can always grow in bigger and better directions. But for now, they'll be taking a long, deserved break.

Bring your dreams into the future!

The InfiniDreams team has released details regarding a new pricing structure for InfiniDreams and InfiniDreams Online.

InfiniDreams, since its creation in April 2005, has been free of charge for all to use; the team asserts that this is because all builds were of a pre-release nature and that it would not be practical to charge for its use when that use is unsupported.

However, the InfiniDreams team will be releasing a final build on April 13, 2009, the four year anniversary of InfiniDreams's creation. At this date, downloads will no longer be non-supported, and the team has decided to introduce a pricing structure.

With the release of the final build, downloading InfiniDreams will incur a one-time payment of $20.00. Minor updates will be free, but major revisions will cost $1.29. InfiniDreams Online will also require payment based on the number of dreams the user has uploaded to the service. For every 10 dreams the user has uploaded, the user will be charged $1 per month.

Since today is April 1, 2009, users will have thirteen days to continue using InfiniDreams and InfiniDreams Online for free. On April 13, they will be greeted with a message asking them for billing information so they may continue using InfiniDreams and InfiniDreams Online.
